Environments & Scratch Orgs

Kaptio DX manages the Salesforce environments a project works in: scratch orgs created from definitions and pools, and connected sandboxes used for integration and acceptance testing.

Org definitions and post-creation scripts feed a scratch org pool that produces ready-to-use scratch orgs; DEV, SIT, and UAT customer project orgs are registered alongside them as DX connections, making every org a source or target in Data Management

Scratch orgs​

  • Created from shared org definitions maintained in Config (admins).
  • Pools keep pre-built orgs warm so you get one in seconds, not minutes.
  • Orgs are owned — Engineers manage their own, Admins can manage any.

Sandboxes and customer orgs​

Customer project orgs (development, SIT, UAT, production) are registered as connections. Once connected, they are available as sources and targets in Data Management.
