Data Management

Data Management is the central area for moving records, metadata, and configurations between Salesforce orgs and cloud storage. Every export is stored centrally as a dataset — browsable, reusable, and shared with the whole team.

A source org is exported into a dataset in cloud storage — versioned, browsable, reusable, with package.xml driving metadata scope — and the dataset is imported into one or more target orgs, now or later

Why datasets matter

An export is not a one-off file on someone's laptop. It is a versioned artifact anyone on the team can find and re-import. If a deployment needs to be repeated — or audited — the dataset is the record of exactly what moved.
