Data Management
Data Management is the central area for moving records, metadata, and configurations between Salesforce orgs and cloud storage. Every export is stored centrally as a dataset — browsable, reusable, and shared with the whole team.
The four features
| Feature | Moves | Driven by |
|---|---|---|
| Records | Salesforce data records | Object selection and filters |
| Metadata | Salesforce metadata | package.xml |
| Configurations | Named configuration bundles | Saved definitions |
| Datasets | Browse and reuse previous exports | — |
Why datasets matter
An export is not a one-off file on someone's laptop. It is a versioned artifact anyone on the team can find and re-import. If a deployment needs to be repeated — or audited — the dataset is the record of exactly what moved.
